I have a set of Animal tarot cards, and have often thought of them the same way, choosing cards with animals that provide this kind of inspiration. There’s not a grasshopper in there, but should be.

You just made me realize, though, that this week, I was recovering from a bout of writing paralysis…and we found an injured bird in the road the other night. We picked him up, brought him home, got him to people who would help him fly again.

And I managed to get back to my writing over the following three days.

Totems, I think, bring us messages in a lot of ways.
